If you are not getting enough magnesium in your diet, you will not feel your best. Magnesium is an important mineral that is needed to live a healthy, optimal life. When you don’t have enough magnesium in your body, certain health conditions will arise. Here are some of the symptoms of low magnesium and what you can do to raise the magnesium levels in your body.
Why are You Not Getting Enough Magnesium?
If you don’t eat soy, nuts, green leafy vegetables or fruit, you may not be getting enough magnesium through your diet. A diet low in magnesium is one of the causes for low magnesium. Another cause of low magnesium is alcoholism or frequent use and abuse of alcohol. If you vomit routinely or have diarrhea often, you may also be low in magnesium. Certain medications such as diuretics, cisplatin, possibly proton pump inhibitors, ciclosporin, and amphetamines may cause low magnesium levels, as does certain medical conditions.
